from canada's Gazette: Here's the deal on Eddie Murphy's quick split from Tracey Edmonds, two weeks after they exchanged vows in Bora Bora on New Year's Day: In Touch Weekly mag says he got mad because Tracey wouldn't take his name.
She was born Tracey McQuarn but has used Edmonds since her first marriage, to R&B singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. Those two have two sons who use "Edmonds," so Tracey wants to keep that name, too.
She and Murphy were going to have a new ceremony stateside, the Bora Bora one being of dubious legality, but when this issue arose, the whole relationship exploded.
Okay, we know Eddie Murphy... we know Eddie Murphy's ego... rumor #2 makes sense.

Yes, with that haircut Katie looks as if she is in the neighborhood of 40... but, we concede, she does look like a very good looking 40 year old. Her body is awesome. Her face is gorgeous and her style choices... though a bit too mature for her age... are lovely. Sans the haircut (because who wants to look like 40? Unless of course you are 60!) the darling girl has a style worth emulating ("copying" for those scholastically challenged..).
Darling Kate's comeback movie choice thus far has proven to be flawed. Mad Money??? Distinctively mediocre. With her new look she should consider a Jane Austen flick.
Now for the good stuff... Tom... Scientology... Nicole...

Morton (from his new unauthorized Tom Cruise bio book) writes: "Those who saw the family close up concluded that Tom was much more comfortable and enthusiastic as a parent. The actor was in constant - and controlling - touch with the youngsters and their nannies no matter how busy he was."
The author also alleges that Nicole would go for days without calling her children when she was away filming on location.
He says: “[It] could be days before she would phone to see how Isabella and Connor were coping.”
In November last, Nicole told U.K.'s GMTV: “My kids don't call me mommy, they don't even call me mom. They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it."
Meanwhile Katie revealed to Parade magazine: "[Tom’s] first two children are incredible, really smart and kind. They call me 'Mom.' So Tom understands the female bond, and he loves it."
To be called a bad mother! That is something that is completely foreign to the coco mommy...However..For some reason this is believeable to us... Nic did come across as cold and self involved although since their split, seems guenuinely changed. As for the whole Scientology mess... Tom's 9 minutes rant on YouTube... claims he is second in command...bizarreness of his current family...etc..etc.. We say... who really cares? Truly the result is only a good laugh along with an "OMG!" and the knowledge of how close the rest of us are to exceptional normalcy! We think that the bottom line is simply this... Some changes can be good... Cameron, Paris, and even Jen looked adorable with bobs... but Katie... darling.. you just look like a boy.
Dear Kate - find your own look.. Posh may be stylish but it is her own slightly trampy look that works for her.. we suggest looking at some Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn pics to find inspiration!

In what was probably a bid to save souls — or "thetans", as they are called in Scientology — Tom Cruise reportedly left 18 messages on the Beckham's phone in one hour.
"Victoria is sick and tired of Tom being on her back about Scientology," a source told Us Weekly.
In addition to dealing with Tom's constant begging to get her to join the church, Victoria has also reportedly had to cope with his wife Katie Holmes — who is using Posh as a shoulder to cry on.
"Katie has been crying over the phone," the source said. "She's frustrated. Tom is denying her every single thing."
"Once, Katie and Victoria talked on the phone for four hours," the insider added.
David and Victoria Beckham are moving to LA this year, and have formed a public friendship with the Holmes-Cruise clan.
But Tom's antics appear to be driving the couple mad.
"Victoria is an old-fashioned British woman who believes in God. She finds it quite rude that Tom is bugging her so much. Not too long ago, Tom left 18 messages in one hour to get them to join the church," a source told the magazine.
The source said the ex-Spice Girl, 32, told the Top Gun actor that enough is enough. "When she says no, she means no."
But Cruise's spokesperson says the allegations aren't true. "This is completely false. Tom does not and never has encouraged anyone to adopt Scientology."
Tom... Tom... Tom... dear. Of course, you have never tried to influence anyone into adopting Scientology... not Katie, or Nicole... no one...never...
Nicole was always able to pursue her Catholic religion of choice... just as Katie has the same choice...

If she and her husband David do adopt they will be the latest celebrities to open up their home to a disadvantaged child.
Madonna has temporary custody of a Malawi baby boy, while Angelina Jolie is planning to adopt for a third time.
Miss Beckham's spokesperson refused to confirm the reports.
